Termite Activity in Pelican Waters on the Sunshine Coast

We were called out to treat active termites found at a home in Pelican Waters on the Sunshine Coast. The home was under contract when the pre-purchase termite inspection was carried out; the inspector found live termites and the buyers pulled out from the contract of sale. We treated the termites using the product Termidor and then followed up two weeks later to confirm that the termite activity had ceased.
We regularly get calls from people who are selling their homes asking for a termite inspection to be carried out prior to them putting their house on the market for sale; this can help avoid hidden surprises when a potential buyer arranges a pre-purchase pest inspection.

Our termite inspections are carried out in accordance with the Australian Standards, we conduct a visual inspection complemented, if required, by the use of a Thermal Imaging Camera and/or a Termatrac T3i.

Thermal imaging cameras are also known as infra-red cameras

Thermal imaging cameras work by detecting the heat given off by the termites.  Thermal imaging shows what the human eye cannot see. If we suspect termite activity when carrying out our termite inspection our technician will use the thermal imaging camera to diagnose the termite activity in a non-destructive / non-invasive manner; this will assist us with offering the most suited action to be taken when planning your termite treatment. The infrared camera can scan the entire area and will pick up the heat generated by the termites. This would never be picked up by the naked eye!  We have invested in the most technologically advanced equipment available to ensure we can deliver the optimum service and results for our customers to ensure the best termite control for their home or business.

After the inspection we discuss findings and recommendations on how to reduce conditions conducive to termite attack in and around the home. We follow up our inspection by emailing a termite inspection report with supporting photo’s detailing our findings and recommendations.
As per the Australian Standards it is advised that termite inspections are carried out at least annually and sometimes at more frequent intervals – our termite inspector will determine this by the design and construction of the home together with the environmental pressures surrounding and affecting the building and he also takes into account if there is a current termite management system installed.
